Data: When will the new iPad be released where I live?

By the time you read this the new iPad will have officially been released (hello Australia).  And over the next week Apple will stagger the releasing the iPad over its main markets; primary the US, Europe and East Asia.

Apple fans in ten countries, the US, Australia, Canada, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Japan, Singapore, Switzerland, and the United Kingdom, will be able to buy the New iPad from Friday March 16.

Users in the rest of Europe (Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, The Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain and Sweden), New Zealand, Macau, and Mexico will have to wait until March 23 before they can get their hand on it.

In this map countires marked with red icons will get the new iPad on March 16, countires marked in blue will get the new iPad on March 23.  The tablet should go on sale from 8am local time on both release dates

Although the iPad will be released on Friday people who haven’t pre-ordered their device online will probably be disappointed.  Apple is reporting that there is now a three week waiting list for pre-ordered new iPads on their online store alone.

If you are going to pick up an iPad in store you’ll have to get your camping gear ready; as with most Apple products there are going to be queues round the block so the earlier you get there the better your chances of getting a device.

For those of you looking to upgrade from an iPad 1 Apple says that they will be reducing the price of the second generation iPads by $100.
