Dublin’s snow covered penguins become big web-hit in the #bigfreeze

Snow Dublin Zoo

The snow might be causing chaos for commuters but there are 14 residents of Dublin for whom the snow is a little bit more welcome, the penguins of Dublin Zoo.

The Irish Times’ Róisín Ingle reports that Irish workers are logging on in huge numbers to view the live video feed the penguins. The web meme spread early last week among office workers across the country. Ingle reports that over 3,000 users viewed the live video on Wednesday (December 1st), ten times the average number.

The penguins can be viewed live on Dublin Zoo’s website, the best video can be seen at 2:30, feeding time.
