In this edition of the data blog we look at the Irish Web Awards in numbers. The awards’ nominations were revealed today and we are very pleased to be nominated in The Best Technology Site category along with some of your favourite sites and friends; Click Magazine, techtv101.com, TechCentral.ie, syncni.com, siliconrepublic.com
There are 145 nominations for 123 separate websites, in 22 categories this year. Some 16 websites received more than one nomination with RTÉ being the most nominated website, with 4 nods. Click Online, Thejournal, Luas, The Science Gallery, Organics Supermarket, and The Cork News receive three nominations each. Eleven websites receive two nominations.
There is a near even mix of .IE and .COM domains (62 .IEs to 56 .COMs) with a handful of others (.CO, .NET, .EU).
