100 jobs on offer at Microsoft Ireland

Microsoft has revealed that it intends to fill 100 job positions at its headquarters in Dublin in areas such as development, operations, sales and supply chain.

Microsoft made the announcement ahead of this weekend’s Career Zoo recruitment fair at The Convention Centre, Dublin, where it is one of the event’s main sponsors.

Human resources manager at Microsoft Ireland Joe Ffrench stated,

“At a time of high unemployment the technology sector continues to offer great opportunities for people with the right skills.

“It is critical for Ireland’s future economic stability that we showcase the employment opportunities available right now and seek to retain our bright, young people who have the skills that are badly needed in the country right now. Career Zoo presents an ideal opportunity for us to do that.”

The company already employs over 1,200 full time employees and 700 full-time contract staff at its campus in Sandyford.

MIcrosoft currently has 39 position posted on its careers page for its Dublin office, but has 45 open positions in total for the island as some positions are not location specific. A number of roles have been advertised as far back as June and July of this year.

Other notable employers in the capital include Twitter who is seeking to fill 20 positions to continue the development of its EMEA business.
